In the Karaganda Region, the driver of a DAF truck who concealed Kazakh plates with Georgian ones has been detained. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

The incident was recorded on October 7 on the Astana–Karaganda highway. At around 12:30, police received information via the QAJ system about a truck traveling from Astana toward Karaganda. It was reported that the vehicle might have fake state registration plates.

After receiving the information, patrol crews stopped the DAF truck at the 111th kilometer of the highway, near the village of Osakarovka. During the check, the suspicion was confirmed: Georgian state registration plates had been mounted over the vehicle's actual Kazakh plates.

In other words, the driver attempted to conceal the vehicle's true registration data. The truck was placed in a special parking area, and administrative protocols were drawn up against the 35-year-old driver.

The case was considered in the Osakarov District Court. By court decision, the driver was deprived of the right to drive vehicles for one year and placed under administrative arrest.

In total, since the beginning of the year, officers of the patrol police battalion in the region have identified 87 drivers who used fake plates.
