A footballer from the 'Elim-ai' team died in a road accident in the Karaganda region. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Ilya Burtov, a 29-year-old player of the 'Elim-Ai' football club from Kokshetau and a coach of the children's club 'Skaut', died in a road accident. The tragic incident occurred on June 6 at the 1st kilometer of the highway near the village of Dubovka in the Karaganda region.
"A 21-year-old driver of a Chevrolet Cobalt lost control of the vehicle and drove into the oncoming lane. As a result, he collided with an Opel Vectra driven by a 44-year-old driver. The driver of the Chevrolet Cobalt and his two passengers sustained various injuries and were taken to a medical facility," said the police department of the Karaganda region.
An investigation is currently underway. Unfortunately, footballer Ilya Burtov died in the hospital. Due to severe injuries, it was not possible to save the patient. This was reported by the Karaganda Regional Health Department.
