In the Karaganda region, the police department expressed gratitude to a teenager who saved a drowning child. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

The incident occurred in early August at Lake Semizbuga in the Bukhar-Zhyrau district. A four-year-old child was riding on an inflatable mattress, which overturned due to the wind, and the child fell into the water.

At that moment, ninth-grader Nuraly Alkhan, who was on the shore, rushed to help without hesitation and pulled the child out of the water safely.

The regional police chief, Negmet Ismagulov, received Nuraly Alkhan and expressed gratitude for his bravery. During the meeting, the mother of the heroic teenager was also thanked.

"It is hard to even recall that moment. As a mother, I was initially very scared for my son. But when I heard that he had pulled the child out of the water, I felt proud. I express my gratitude to the leadership of the police department for recognizing my son's feat," said Samal Abdrakhmanova.

Additionally, gifts were given to his brothers.
