In the Karaganda region, the Emergency Situations Department (ESD) has warned drivers due to a steppe fire. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
In Shet district, grass and caragana are burning over 4 kilometres. Additional forces have been sent to the scene.
According to rescuers, due to strong gusty winds, smoke may occur on a section of the republican highway "Astana – Karaganda – Almaty" near the village of Kyzylkoy. Drivers are urged to be as careful as possible when passing through the smoky section.
