The akimat of Konaev city reported that the number of vacationers at the Kapshagay reservoir reached 2 million, setting a new record. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
During the three summer months, 2 million people came to the Kapshagay reservoir for recreation. According to the akimat, this year an investor was attracted to beach No. 4, and work on improving the area has begun. It is planned to build a restaurant here that will serve visitors all year round.
Beach modernization
In addition, work has begun on the modernization of the Northern, No. 6 and No. 7 beaches. Construction work on beaches No. 6 and No. 7 has been completed, and the facilities have been put into operation. The Northern beach is also planned to be opened in the near future.
The improved area of beaches No. 6 and No. 7 is 7.57 hectares, the coastline is 680 meters. As part of the project, water supply and sewerage systems were installed, and a 380 kW transformer was installed.
Beach infrastructure
According to the akimat, 56 business places, small architectural forms, areas for beach sports, new sanitary facilities and tents have appeared on the beach area. During the swimming season, 16 lifeguards were on duty, and 17 video surveillance cameras worked to ensure safety.
During the summer, 975 tons of garbage were removed from these beaches.
