The Ministry of Health announced which cities lead the country in donor indicators on World Blood Donor Day. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to the ministry, more than 200,000 citizens become blood donors annually in Kazakhstan. Astana, Almaty, and Shymkent lead in the number of donors. This is explained by the high demand for blood and donors in large cities due to their large populations.
In 2025, 255,255 donations of blood and its components were made in the republic. This indicator reflects the high social responsibility of citizens and the sustainable development of the blood service.
Honorary donors hold a special place in the donor movement. These are citizens who have donated blood and its components more than 50 times. Their contribution to the development of unpaid donation and saving lives is enormous.
Overall, the donor movement in the country is stable and systematic. In Kazakhstan, more than 180,000 citizens become donors annually and make over 255,000 donations. This allows providing quality transfusion services to more than 80,000 patients each year, saving their lives and aiding recovery.
