The third round of trilateral negotiations between Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic and Uzbekistan on the draft Intergovernmental Agreement on the joint implementation of the Kambar-Ata HPP-1 project was held in Almaty. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
This was announced by the Ministry of Energy.

The parties discussed in detail the main provisions of the draft agreement, including mechanisms for joint implementation and management of the project, issues of financing and distribution of obligations, as well as coordination of further actions of the three states.

Significance of the project
For Kazakhstan, participation in the Kambar-Ata HPP-1 project is important from the standpoint of strengthening regional cooperation in the fields of water resources and energy, increasing the stability of Central Asia's energy systems, as well as developing mechanisms for the efficient and mutually beneficial use of transboundary water resources, the ministry said.
