A preventive operation called 'Bus' was conducted across the country to ensure passenger transport safety. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

During the operation, more than 22,000 violations of traffic rules were detected, of which about 6,000 relate to passenger transportation. Specifically, 2 cases of driving with fake license plates, 4 cases of drunk driving, and 3 drivers who were deprived of driving licenses were identified.

'In addition, 63 cases of illegally equipped seats in buses operating on intercity and international routes were recorded. 61 buses were placed in impound lots, and 102 license plates were confiscated,' the statement said.

Also, pre-trial investigations have been initiated against 6 drivers under Article 346 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan for drunk driving.
