Kairat Aituganov was elected as the new chairman of the Auyl party at an extraordinary congress held on June 23. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

The congress discussed the party's current tasks and amendments to its charter in line with Kazakhstan's new Constitution.

During the meeting, Serik Egizbaev announced his resignation as chairman of the Auyl party, stating that the decision was made in the interests of the party and its further development.

"Today's political moment requires all progressive forces to provide a worthy response to society's demand for renewal, which was confirmed during the constitutional reform. Auyl cannot stay away from these processes; on the contrary, the party is an active participant, and for this, it is necessary to introduce new approaches to the agricultural and social agenda and work effectively in the updated political system," Egizbaev said.

According to him, the decision to step down as party chairman is a logical step that demonstrates the party's readiness for internal dynamics and its intention to fully participate in the upcoming elections in the new political system.

Egizbaev also stated that he remains committed to the party's goals, is ready to support the new chairman to ensure continuity and stable work, and intends to continue active activities within its ranks.

He proposed that the congress delegates consider the candidacy of Deputy Chairman Kairat Aituganov for the position of chairman.

Kairat Aituganov has over 40 years of experience in agricultural economics, public service, and science. Over the years, he has held positions as First Vice Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan, Head of the Office and Project Manager of the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Chairman of the Board of NC SPK Ontustik JSC, Deputy Akim of Karaganda Region, Deputy Chairman of the Board of KazAgro National Holding JSC, and Deputy Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Kazakhstan.

He also served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Agrarian Scientific and Educational Center and Chairman of the Board of S. Seifullin Kazakh Agrotechnical University.

As Deputy Chairman of the party, Aituganov participated in developing and promoting legislative and program initiatives related to rural development.

According to Egizbaev, the new chairman has the potential to ensure continuity in party work and coordinate the tasks facing Auyl.

The congress delegates unanimously supported the election of Kairat Aituganov as party chairman.

The congress also decided to amend the party's charter in accordance with the new Constitution.
