The Kazakh film 'Qaitadan' won the Grand Prix of the Central Asian competition at the 4th Bishkek International Film Festival. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

The film forum took place in the capital of Kyrgyzstan and gathered directors, actors, producers and representatives of the film industry from different countries.

As part of the Central Asian competition, films from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan were presented to the audience and jury.

According to the results of the competition program, the Grand Prix in the nomination 'Best Film' went to the Kazakh film 'Qaitadan'.

The victory in Bishkek became another achievement for the film, which has already become one of the most successful projects of domestic cinema in recent years.

Last year, the film showed impressive results in national distribution. In just three weeks, the film collected more than 1 billion tenge in box office receipts and topped the rating of the most popular films in Kazakhstan.

The success of the project was noticeable not only among viewers, but also in the professional community.

Earlier, 'Qaitadan' was recognized as the best in the 'Cinematography' category at the STEPPE AWARDS, which is considered one of the main awards in the field of creative industries in Kazakhstan.

The film was created with state support.

The project won a pitching competition in 2023, after which it received support from the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The new international award became another confirmation of the demand for Kazakh cinema at the regional level and the growing interest in domestic films outside the country.
