The Kazakh film 'Qaitadan' has been named the Best Film of Central Asia at the 4th Bishkek International Film Festival. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The festival featured a Central Asian competition with entries from filmmakers from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan. According to the results, the Kazakh film 'Qaitadan' won the Grand Prix in the 'Best Film' category.
'Qaitadan' has become one of the most successful Kazakh films in recent years. Last year, the film grossed over 1 billion tenge in just three weeks, leading the domestic box office. Previously, the film also won the 'Cinematography' category at the STEPPE AWARDS, the main award in Kazakhstan's creative industries.
