Kazakh film 'Qaitadan' won the Grand Prix in the 'Best Film' category at the 4th Bishkek International Film Festival. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to the Ministry of Culture and Information of Kazakhstan, the festival brought together directors, actors and producers from different countries. The festival featured a Central Asian competition with films from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.
'Qaitadan' has become one of the most successful Kazakh films in recent years. Last year, in just three weeks of release, the film grossed over 1 billion tenge and topped the domestic box office.
Earlier, the film also won the STEPPE AWARDS — the main award in the creative industries of Kazakhstan — in the 'Cinematography' category.
Recall that the project won a pitching competition in 2023 and was implemented with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
