Russian President Vladimir Putin called Ukraine's threats to Russian airspace state terrorism. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Putin promised that Russia would find a way to respond if the Kyiv regime tries to implement its threats to "close the sky" over Russia. He called the plans announced by Volodymyr Zelensky an attempt to commit state terrorism.
"If someone tries to 'swallow' us, they may get a serious blow," he said.
He recalled that over 40 days since June, the Kyiv regime has damaged about 100 ships, sailors have died, and Russia has not attacked civilian ships, but only targeted ships carrying weapons or ammunition to Ukraine.
Russia Will Find a Way to Respond
According to the Russian president, the opposing side is already receiving an appropriate response.
"The Russian Armed Forces have been instructed to prepare and launch massive strikes on Ukraine's energy facilities. If they attack ours, they will get a response," Vladimir Putin said.
In his opinion, any military targets in Ukraine are legitimate targets. He also expressed confidence that the Kyiv regime cannot cause significant damage to Russia.
In particular, the Russian president noted that the level of protection at oil refineries has been strengthened.
"Last night they again tried to attack three oil refineries, but it did not work. This does not mean that nothing will get through, but the level of protection is completely different," he said.
Consequences of Strikes on Ukraine
Putin suggested that after Russia's strikes, Ukraine could face at least three possible crises: currency, budget, and banking.
"The first is a currency crisis. Because they need to sell less, earn less, and spend more. Revenues are declining, the budget is insufficient. Because producers who took loans do not return them," Vladimir Putin said.
The president noted that Ukraine is aware of the threat to its economy and is currently struggling to survive.
He also said that the Kyiv authorities have asked Russia's partners to ensure the export of Ukrainian grain.
"They went to all our friends, including Arab countries - not just one Arab country, but several, and to our Indian friends, and to some other parties, including Turkey, with the same question: 'We need help! Force Russia, under some pretext, preferably of a social and humanitarian nature, to release our cargoes'," Putin said.
He also noted that Russia's partners do not put excessive pressure on him.
Kyiv Again Asks for Negotiations
Putin reminded that it is Kyiv that is asking to resume negotiations and personal meetings.
"We do not negotiate with terrorists," he replied.
According to him, any negotiations must be filled with concrete content, and the process of settling the conflict itself is currently practically stalled.
"If someone makes or can make a real contribution to this process, we will support it. But there is a thought that it should not be repeated in a meaningless mode. However, if one side can bring positive changes to this negotiation process, then we are generally not against it," Putin said.
In addition, the Russian leader said that Russia needs someone to discuss a peace agreement in Ukraine. He stated that Donald Trump's representatives - Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner - are always welcome in Russia, and Moscow is ready to work with them.
Commenting on the recent visit of the CIA director to Moscow, he said that contacts between intelligence officers are ongoing.
Speaking about Kyiv's proposals for a deal, Putin reiterated that Russia needs long-term peace.
"We do not want a temporary cessation of war, we want to stop it forever and achieve long-term, real peace. We are ready for a negotiation process with any party that wants this, both in Ukraine and in Europe," he said.
The Opponent Will Be Defeated
According to Putin, he constantly receives information about the situation on the battlefield. He clarified that on the eastern shore of the Krasnooskol reservoir, a group of Ukrainian Armed Forces numbering 13 battalions and 5,000 people has been surrounded.
In the northeastern part of the Kharkiv region, another Ukrainian military group of up to 2,000 people has been surrounded. Its destruction will allow moving the line of contact 20 kilometers away from the Belgorod region.
Over the past month, fourteen settlements, including Kazachya Lopan, have come under Russian control, and the city of Svyatogorsk was liberated yesterday. In August, 270 square kilometers of DPR territory were returned.
Fighters are reaching the southern outskirts of Slavyansk, Kramatorsk, and Druzhkovka.
Troops of the "Center" group are engaged in street battles in Dobropolye and advancing in various important areas. The "East" and "Dnieper" groups are advancing on a wide front towards the city of Zaporozhye.
In addition, the Russian Armed Forces are fighting in the central areas of the city of Orekhov. In August, nine settlements were liberated in Zaporozhye.
The Russian army has 12 kilometers left to reach the ring road in Sumy. Work is also underway to create a security zone in the border areas of the Sumy and Kharkiv regions.
"I have no doubt that the opponent will be defeated - it is a matter of time. And time is a very complex issue, which it is better not to try to give an exact answer to. Because war is a cruel and difficult to predict matter," Putin said.
