Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on Republic Day. According to the congratulatory telegram, Kazakhstan has a worthy authority on the international arena and plays an important role in international affairs. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
"Dear Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich, please accept my sincere congratulations on your national holiday - Republic Day. Kazakhstan's achievements in the economic and social spheres are universally recognized. Your country plays an important constructive role in international affairs and has a worthy authority on the world stage," Putin wrote.
Relations between Russia and Kazakhstan are successfully developing in the spirit of strategic partnership and alliance, the Russian leader said.
Moscow and Astana coordinate their efforts within the CIS, the Eurasian Economic Union, the Collective Security Treaty Organization, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and other multilateral organizations.
"I am confident that we will continue to strengthen mutually beneficial Russian-Kazakhstan ties in all areas for the benefit of our friendly peoples and in the interests of strengthening security and stability in the Eurasian region," Putin said.
Republic Day, celebrated on October 25, is the only holiday in Kazakhstan that has national rather than state status.
