Russian President Vladimir Putin has offered condolences to Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev over the deaths of servicemen on the Caspian Sea. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
"I express my deep condolences in connection with the tragic incident that occurred during the exercises of the Naval Forces of Kazakhstan on the Caspian Sea," the telegram says.
In the Mangystau region, 12 servicemen died during exercises on the Caspian Sea, three were rescued, and the search for two more people continues.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, in connection with the tragic incident in the Mangystau region, declared September 25 a day of national mourning in Kazakhstan.
