Russian President Vladimir Putin stated Russia's readiness to hold peace negotiations with Ukraine based on the agreements reached in Istanbul in 2022. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The Russian leader held a meeting with government officials. "Russia, as has been stated repeatedly, is ready to conduct peace negotiations with Ukraine. It is ready to continue work based on the agreements reached in Istanbul and initialed by the Ukrainian delegation at that time. This means they were satisfied with everything. I see no grounds for rejecting these agreements," Putin said during the meeting.
The president emphasized that Russia sees no reason to deviate from these agreements. "But based on the agreements reached in Istanbul, the methods discussed in Anchorage, and reality, as well as the principles I outlined in my speech at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs several years ago," Putin added.
