Russian President Vladimir Putin called the Russian language a unifying force across the entire CIS space. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
"A powerful unifying force across the vast territory of the Commonwealth is the Russian language. This was also discussed today," he said.
Thanks to Tokayev
Vladimir Putin expressed gratitude to Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev for the initiative to create an international organization on the Russian language.
"Taking this opportunity, I would like once again to express my appreciation to Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Kemelevich Tokayev, who proposed creating such a useful structure," he said during a narrow-format meeting.
Organization's work began in 2026
Putin recalled that the organization's work began in 2026.
According to him, the organization's first ministerial meeting was held in Moscow, where directions were outlined for preserving the common Russian-language cultural and humanitarian heritage, as well as for popularizing and widely spreading the Russian language in the world.
Vladimir Putin also thanked other CIS leaders who supported the initiative.
