US President Donald Trump and Russian leader Vladimir Putin spoke by phone. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov released the results of the 90-minute phone conversation. According to him, Trump congratulated Putin on his birthday.
The Russian leader stressed the importance of maintaining dialogue with the United States. Russia also confirmed its readiness to supply oil products to the US and world markets.
Putin stated that the goals of the special military operation remain unchanged. According to him, Kyiv's actions prevented the possibility of immediately resuming negotiations.
Trump promised to convey Moscow's position to the Ukrainian delegation at a meeting in Miami. In addition, Russia remains ready to receive highly enriched uranium from Iran.
Putin believes the crisis can still be resolved through diplomacy. If both presidents take part, they could meet on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in China.
So far, no specific date for the meeting has been discussed.
