Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the plenary session of the Eastern Economic Forum that Kyiv's actions complicate the possibility of a peaceful settlement of the conflict in Ukraine. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to him, Vladimir Zelensky's statement about civilian aircraft over Russian territory constitutes state terrorism. He noted that he had heard about the threat of an attack on civilian aircraft, which is a manifestation of state terrorism.
"If Kyiv attempts to carry out this threat, Russia will respond. This will undoubtedly complicate the possibility of holding bilateral peace negotiations," Putin said.
The Russian president stressed that if Kyiv's Western allies remain silent on this issue, they will become accomplices to international terrorism. "Those who do not pay attention to this – primarily, Ukraine's Western allies – will become accomplices to international terrorism. It cannot be explained otherwise," he said.
According to him, the aggressive actions of Kyiv and Europeans complicate the possibilities for resolving the conflict. At the same time, he noted that the possibility of achieving peace exists. "First of all, Russia and Ukraine must agree among themselves. All other countries are ready to support and help," Putin explained.
According to him, communication between Moscow and Kyiv has not ceased. Currently, the two sides communicate mainly through special services. Speaking about dialogue with Washington, Putin clarified that the Kremlin favors restoring relations in full format. According to him, US President Donald Trump is inclined to conduct constructive work.
The Russian president said he is grateful to all parties trying to contribute to resolving the conflict in Ukraine. "First of all, this issue should be resolved by the countries involved in the conflict – Russia and Ukraine. However, we express our gratitude to all parties trying to contribute," Putin said at the plenary session of the Eastern Economic Forum.
The Eastern Economic Forum is taking place in Vladivostok from September 1 to 4.
