A prosecutor's inspection revealed a serious threat to road safety in the Turkestan region: 89 people with medical contraindications to driving continued to drive with valid driver's licenses. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to the press service of the General Prosecutor's Office, these are drivers registered with a psychiatrist and narcologist and having medical contraindications to driving. "According to the legislation, persons with mental and behavioral disorders, as well as disorders related to the use of psychoactive substances, if there are medical contraindications, do not have the right to drive vehicles," the supervisory authority clarified.
After the intervention of the prosecutor's office, the courts terminated the right of all 89 citizens to drive vehicles. In addition, based on the results of the prosecutor's inspection, the guilty officials were punished.
