Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor Fyodor Voitolovsky said how the world might change over the next ten years. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

At the annual meeting of the Valdai International Discussion Club, prospects for the development of the global economy were discussed. According to Professor Fyodor Voitolovsky, today many states rely on big business and act with its interests in mind. The reason is that large companies actively participate in international competition.

"What has changed over the past 20–25 years? The interests of big business have become intertwined with the interests of states. Not only Western corporations, but today Russian, Indian and Chinese companies have also become transnational corporations. The US is also competing with them," Voitolovsky said.

In this regard, the academic drew attention to an important issue. According to him, without cooperation between states and transnational corporations, the development of both sides will be difficult.

"Over the next ten years, we will live in a world of uncompromising competition. However, capital owners, investors and strategic investors understand the risks and costs of potential global conflicts," the scholar noted.

Meanwhile, President of the Center for Globalization of China Wang Huiyao said that the modern world is going through a complex period of confrontation.

"War and the energy crisis are still ongoing. In such a situation, one often has to think about what to do next. Now we need to achieve a new balance, a new equilibrium," Huiyao said.

According to him, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and other alliances in the field of regional security could become mechanisms ensuring a new balance. And to form a new balance, it is necessary to involve the G20 countries in UN reform.
