Recall that the Kazakhstan fencing team became world champions. Ruslan Kurbanov, Yerlik Sertai, Kirill Prokhorov, and Vadim Sharlaimov reached the final and faced the Ukrainian team in the gold medal match, winning with a score of 40:45.
