President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, answering questions from journalists, said that the Kurultai elections are only the beginning of large-scale work. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

The President answered several questions from journalists. "As I said earlier, the historical significance of the first single-chamber parliament elections is great. I believe it will give a new impetus to the development of our country. New personalities and new ideas have emerged," the President said.

According to him, he will always support young people in freely expressing their opinions and contributing to the formation of the state.

When asked what deputies should be like, he replied: "Deputies, first of all, are responsible for the quality of laws. Secondly, they must fulfill their promises or programs. Thirdly, laws that contribute to the development of the country must be adopted," Kassym-Jomart Tokayev answered.

"The times are difficult now. We have no other homeland than Kazakhstan," the President said, emphasizing the need to act together. "We must unite our efforts on the path of turning our native country into an advanced, modern state. In this regard, the Constitution gives us ample opportunities. We will not be mistaken if we say that our New Constitution, adopted by a united people, is a very progressive, meaningful document. Therefore, the Fundamental Law points us, especially the youth, to a bright path," Tokayev said.

According to the President, the future is in the hands of young people. There is no doubt about that.
