Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov named the regions that have actively started modernizing utility networks. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Kazakhstan has launched a national project to modernize the energy and utility sectors. The main goal is to gradually reduce the wear and tear of engineering infrastructure and improve the quality of public services. Private and foreign capital are being attracted to implement the national project.
Currently, Atyrau and Zhetysu regions lead in the share of contracts concluded. In terms of the volume of completed contracts, Pavlodar and Karaganda regions are ahead.
"Overall, there is a positive trend towards achieving the planned targets. Among them, we can note Atyrau, Zhetysu, Pavlodar and Karaganda regions. At the same time, there are regions where the pace of investment projects is slow," Bektenov said at today's government meeting.
According to official data, Shymkent city, Almaty and Ulytau regions have delayed the work. At today's meeting, the prime minister issued a strict warning to the akim of Almaty region.
