Portuguese footballer Kevin de Castro lost consciousness during a friendly match and later died in hospital. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
He was only 25 years old, as reported by 1bol.kz. According to A Bola, the footballer, who had recently moved to the club "Real Massama", collapsed on the field about 10 minutes after the start of the match against "Estrela". Medical staff from both teams immediately provided assistance and tried to revive him using a defibrillator.
The footballer was taken to hospital, but doctors confirmed his death. Kevin de Castro had just turned 25 on August 16. After the incident, the club "Estrela" expressed condolences to the footballer's family and friends, as well as to the "Real Massama" team.
Kevin de Castro was born in Portugal. Later, as a child, he moved to England, where he played in the systems of "West Bromwich Albion", "Burton Albion", "Notts County" and "York City".
