The issue of transferring MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine is closed, said Polish Deputy Defense Minister Magdalena Sobkowiak-Czarniecka to reporters after a government meeting. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

Earlier, Polish military officials had repeatedly stated their readiness to transfer the remaining MiG-29 fighter jets in exchange for drone technology belonging to Ukraine.

"What we are discussing is an exchange issue. The Ukrainian side asked us to transfer MiG aircraft. From the very beginning, it was clear that we would exchange MiG aircraft for drones," Sobkowiak-Czarniecka said.

She added that this issue is now closed. "Such an exchange process did not take place. It was a simple matter: one side gets MiGs, the other gets drones. If not, then this issue no longer exists," she said.

Russia believes that arms supplies to Ukraine hinder conflict resolution and directly involve NATO countries in the conflict. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated that any shipment of weapons destined for Ukraine will become a legitimate target for Russia.
