Poland's largest opposition party, Law and Justice, has expressed dissatisfaction with the government's plans to provide additional Patriot missiles to Ukraine. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Deputy Minister of National Defense Magdalena Sobkowiak-Czarnecka said in an interview with RMF FM radio that Poland may decide to transfer Patriot missiles to Ukraine in the coming days.
Deputy Przemysław Czarnek wrote on social media X: "Patriot missiles are not a warehouse of foreign aid. They are one of the most important elements of Poland's defense. No missile should be taken out of Poland."
Earlier, Deputy Speaker of the Polish Sejm from the nationalist Confederation coalition Krzysztof Bosak stated that Poland had transferred Patriot missiles purchased for Warsaw's air defense system to Ukraine.
Marcin Przydacz, head of the International Policy Bureau of the Polish President's Office, said that Poland had previously given up its turn to purchase Patriot missiles from the United States for Ukraine.
Russia believes that arms supplies to Ukraine hinder conflict resolution and directly involve NATO countries in the conflict. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated that any shipment with weapons for Ukraine would be a legitimate target for Russia.
