44 cases of train glass damage were registered this year. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Polisia.kz.
Most often such incidents occur at sections of Almaty, Shymkent, Karaganda and Shu stations. In most identified cases, minors were involved in the offenses, police said.
One of the latest incidents occurred on the Talas – Taraz stretch. An unknown person threw a stone and broke the side window of an electric locomotive. Officers of the transport police department at Taraz station identified and found the violator, who turned out to be a 19-year-old resident of the city. He was brought to responsibility for intentional damage to someone else's property.
The transport police department reminded that throwing stones and any other objects at moving trains is categorically unacceptable. This poses a real threat to drivers and passengers, and may also entail serious consequences for the violator himself.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that in the Akmola region, a 22-year-old girl who was late for boarding and saw the train doors closed threw a stone at the driver's cab and broke the windshield. The court found her guilty of intentional damage to property, but later reduced the administrative fine, taking into account her status as a student.
