The Ministry of Healthcare plans to conduct additional unscheduled inspections of medical organizations providing plastic surgery services, the press service of the department reported. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
If violations are detected during the comprehensive inspection, appropriate measures will be taken in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The territorial departments of the Committee for Medical and Pharmaceutical Control of the Ministry of Healthcare have conducted 92 unscheduled inspections of medical organizations providing services in the field of plastic surgery from 2021 to the present.
Most inspections occurred in 2024 due to an increase in complaints and appeals from citizens regarding the quality and safety of medical care in plastic surgery. The inspections revealed violations of licensing requirements, standards for organizing medical care, and rules for maintaining medical documentation.
It was also found that some medical organizations provided services without the appropriate permits. To eliminate the identified violations, the territorial departments of the committee issued mandatory instructions. Additionally, 24 administrative violation protocols were drawn up, and administrative fines totaling 4.8 million tenge were imposed.
As part of control measures, the territorial departments of the committee also conducted unscheduled inspections in cases where plastic surgeries resulted in patient deaths. The highest number of such incidents was recorded in Almaty and Astana, as well as in the Mangystau region. Based on the inspection results, materials were sent to law enforcement agencies for appropriate procedural decisions in accordance with the law.
