'Lost Weekend' is not linear but rather a road trip. In 'Liberty Tree', Bridgers depicts the spark of a new relationship at a mall. In the title track, a van breaks down just before she acknowledges the dissolution of a proposed marriage. In 'Panorama', ambient beats and guitar play together for over a minute before the listener arrives at a hotel room.
Musical Highlights
Screams undercut the opening of 'Bobby', symbolizing the intensity of love. Banjo played by co-producer Jack Antonoff peeks out from below the heavier drum and guitar track. Bridgers sings 'Bobby, this could be the end of wanting', and when the track resurges, the refrain repeats: 'This could be the end'.
In 'Still Standing', Bridgers reflects on her relationship with her late father through childhood memories: 'I wasn’t too young to understand / I just didn’t think it was so bad,' she sings.
