A worker suffered severe burns in a fire at an asphalt concrete plant in Petropavlovsk. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

The emergency occurred on July 8 at approximately 10:00 AM. According to the Department of Emergency Situations of the North Kazakhstan Region, oil used to heat bitumen caught fire on the premises of the asphalt concrete plant located on Gashek Street in Petropavlovsk.

As a result of the fire, a man born in 1975 sustained thermal burns. The victim was hospitalized. Fourteen employees and six units of equipment from the emergency department were deployed to the scene. Thanks to the prompt actions of firefighters, the fire was extinguished over an area of 20 square meters.

The cause of the fire is being investigated. The injured man worked as an operator at Vayk Grupp LLP. According to the Health Department of the North Kazakhstan Region, the patient was taken to the hospital within an hour after receiving the industrial injury. His condition is very serious; he is in intensive care.
