An ordinary appointment at one of the clinics in Petropavlovsk ended with a criminal case. A 51-year-old patient hit a doctor in the face after a verbal altercation. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to the police department of the North Kazakhstan region, the man came for an appointment on the morning of August 17. A conversation began between him and the doctor, which quickly escalated into a conflict. After the doctor's remark, the patient reacted aggressively and used force.
The police opened a criminal case on the fact of using violence not dangerous to life or health against a medical worker while performing official duties.
"This is the second case of violence against a medical worker registered in the region. The first occurred in June in the Shal akyn district. Then a drunk man hit a nurse who was providing him assistance after a traffic accident. The court sentenced him to 1.5 years in prison," said Alibek Kuzhakhmetov, first deputy head of the police department of the North Kazakhstan region.
The police reminded that since this year, criminal liability is provided for threats or violence against medical workers. The corresponding norm is enshrined in Article 380-3 of the Criminal Code of Kazakhstan.
Earlier, Kursiv reported how in Pavlodar, compassionate passers-by called an ambulance for a man lying on the street under the scorching sun. However, instead of gratitude, the patient attacked the team and smashed the resuscitation vehicle.
