In Petropavlovsk, a court sentenced the owner of several trucks to administrative arrest for refusing to comply with a police order to remove the vehicles from the roadside of a republican highway. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

According to the court, the trucks had been parked for a long time at the 479–480 kilometer mark of the Astana–Kokshetau highway, near the turn to Petropavlovsk airport. The heavy vehicles caused subsidence of the road surface.

The owner claimed he could not remove the trucks due to missing keys, lack of contact with drivers, and vehicle malfunctions.

"The court found these arguments unfounded as they were not supported by objective evidence. The owner is obliged to take timely measures to eliminate obstacles, including arranging repairs for faulty equipment," the court explained.

When making the decision, the court also noted that the man had previously been repeatedly held administratively liable for violations related to the operation of heavy vehicles.

As a result, he was found guilty of disobeying a lawful police order and sentenced to 10 days of administrative arrest.

The court ruling has not yet entered into legal force.
