Human bones have been found in Petropavlovsk on the territory where the construction of an inclusive center building is underway. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Information about the incident spread on social media. In a video, an excavator operator says that bones are coming out as he digs the soil.
"Guys, I'm pulling out the fifth coffin on my back. How many bags were filled in one day," the excavator operator says.
Construction workers are collecting the bones with shovels, cleaning them and putting them in bags. According to the excavator operator, the found bones may include children's bones.
Guards say that more than a century ago there was a Christian cemetery on this territory. Human bones have been found here before as well.
Police are conducting an investigation into the matter.
"On the fact of the discovery of skeletons, the police registered the material. No criminal signs have been identified. An investigation has been appointed to determine the origin of the remains and other circumstances. Based on its results, an appropriate conclusion will be made," the police department of the North Kazakhstan region reported.
Currently, the found bones are planned to be reburied at the cemetery in the Zhumysshy settlement area.
