A special train was deployed to extinguish a fire in Petropavl. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

Dry vegetation caught fire near a household waste landfill. Firefighting efforts were complicated by strong winds with gusts of 25 m/s, swampy terrain, as well as thick dry grass and reeds reaching up to two metres in height.

The fire covered approximately 12 hectares.

“A fire train with a 150-tonne water supply was additionally deployed to extinguish the fire,” rescuers say.

A total of 110 personnel and 31 units of equipment were also involved in extinguishing the fire. As a result of prompt action, the fire was contained and its spread to residential areas and dacha plots was prevented.

There are no casualties.
