In Petropavlovsk, a man who rode an electric bicycle while intoxicated has been jailed for 20 days. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to the regional police department, the 37-year-old resident of Akmola Region was detained on Vorovskogo Street.
Police first took him for a medical examination. There it was confirmed that he was intoxicated.
«Since the man did not have the right to drive a vehicle, an administrative protocol was drawn up against him under Part 6 of Article 608 of the Code of Administrative Offences. By a court decision, he was placed under administrative arrest for 20 days», — the police said.
In this regard, police warn that driving an electric bicycle while intoxicated can cause a serious traffic accident. Especially dangerous are riding at high speed in the dark and not using protective equipment — this poses a threat both to the driver himself and to people around him.
It should be noted that by law, to drive electric bicycles with a speed exceeding 25 kilometers per hour, a driver's license of category «A1», «A» or «B» is required.
