In Petropavl, a conflict between a patient and a doctor escalated into a criminal case. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

The incident occurred on August 17. According to the police department of the North Kazakhstan region, a 51-year-old city resident was talking to a doctor.

"The man reacted aggressively to the medical worker's remark and struck him in the face," the police statement said.

A criminal case was opened under the article "Use of violence not dangerous to life or health against a medical worker."

According to Alibek Kozhakhmetov, first deputy head of the police department of the North Kazakhstan region, this is the second registered case of violence against a medical worker in the region.

"In June, in the Shal akyn district, a drunk man used force against a medical worker who was providing assistance after a traffic accident. The court sentenced him to 1.5 years in prison," said Alibek Kozhakhmetov.
