A court in Petropavl has sentenced a woman who killed her mother. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The crime occurred on October 15 last year. The woman approached her mother in their home and thrust a kitchen knife with full force into her left chest. The prosecutor requested a 9-year prison sentence. However, the victim asked the court not to impose a harsh punishment.
The defendant partially admitted guilt but expressed deep remorse. The court sentenced her to 9 years in prison, to be served in a medium-security correctional facility. The verdict has not yet entered into legal force.
