The incident was shared on social media. A city resident was returning from her dacha by bicycle. As she approached a bypass road near a village, an elderly man appeared in front of her. He told her he was looking for a cow. The incident occurred around noon.
At that moment, the man threw the woman to the ground and began to choke her. During the struggle, the woman noticed a passerby on the road. Seizing the opportunity, she broke free and ran to the road, asking the person she met for help.
Police detained a 62-year-old man on suspicion of the attack. A criminal case has been opened on the fact of an attempt to commit sexual assault against a 54-year-old resident of Petropavl. Police officers identified and detained a 62-year-old resident of the regional center. He has been placed in a temporary detention facility, said the police department of the North Kazakhstan region. An investigation is currently underway.
