In Petropavlovsk, employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the prosecutor's office rescued a man who fell off a cliff near the Yesil River. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

During a routine patrol near Victory Park, specialists noticed a person at the foot of the cliff in a dangerous situation.

According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the 70-year-old man decided to swim in an area not equipped for swimming after work. While descending from the observation deck to the water along a steep slope, he slipped and fell. Preliminary reports indicate he suffered a collarbone fracture from the fall.

Despite attempts to climb back up on his own, the man was unable to do so due to his injury and the difficult terrain.

Rescuers immediately began the operation. Using climbing equipment and a rigid stretcher, the victim was evacuated from the hard-to-reach area and lifted to a safe platform.

After that, the man was handed over to an ambulance team.

Earlier, Kursiv reported how a man and a woman were rescued at the Soldatsky beach in Aktau after nearly drowning while swimming.
