The waiting time for the important diagnostic procedure PET/CT in the country has been reduced from three months to 14 days. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media. All thanks to the introduction of digital services, the Ministry of Health reports.
According to the ministry, last year over 215 million medical services were provided, of which 190.8 million (88.6%) were provided in e-format.
"One of the notable results of digitalization has been the transition of medical documents to electronic format. 12 types of medical certificates have been digitized, five of which are issued only online. In 2025, citizens were issued over 8.5 million electronic medical certificates — 2.2 times more than the previous year," the statement said.
It is noted that more and more Kazakhstanis are making doctor appointments through digital services. In 2025, 5.6 million citizens used online booking, allowing them to plan visits to specialists without additional visits to the registry.
From 2026, it is planned to provide digital support for key population groups, including more than 7 million children under 18, about 5 million women of fertile age, and 400 thousand pregnant women.
It is also planned to launch new digital services. This includes a unified doctor appointment schedule based on online booking, an e-Health portal, and a mobile application for citizens, medical workers, and organizations. In addition, they want to develop feedback tools and confirmation of the fact of receiving medical services.
Earlier, Kursiv wrote that the Ministry of Health submitted for discussion a draft order expanding the list of medical services available online. This will allow Kazakhstanis to undergo repeat appointments and receive interpretations of diagnostic tests via the internet.
