Russia expects trilateral talks on a settlement in Ukraine to resume in the near future. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said this. "We are open to negotiations. As discussed with the American negotiators, we hope that the three parties will meet again soon and continue the dialogue," he told the Izvestia newspaper.
However, the Kremlin representative said it is difficult to predict results because the situation for Ukrainians is deteriorating every day.
On Tuesday, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump spoke by phone. They highly praised the results of the American negotiating team's trips to Moscow and Kyiv.
The Russian leader supported the White House's commitment to constructive partnership and outlined the steps Washington could take to stop the conflict.
Last Saturday, Putin received US President's envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner at the Kremlin. He gave them an accurate and comprehensive assessment of the situation on the ground, and they promised to adhere to it in dialogue with Kyiv.
The next day, the American delegation arrived in the Ukrainian capital for negotiations.
