The Kremlin said trilateral talks on Ukraine could resume next month, according to Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
"We do not rule out this possibility. We are talking about the concrete near future. Of course, October cannot be ruled out," he told reporters.
This morning Kushner said that after these trips the US clearly understood what steps could be taken for a long-term settlement of the conflict. According to him, new ideas have emerged that could be discussed at the upcoming trilateral meeting.
On Tuesday, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump spoke by phone. They highly assessed the results of the American negotiating team's trips to Moscow and Kyiv. The Russian leader supported the White House's commitment to constructive partnership and outlined the steps Washington could take to stop the conflict.
Last Saturday, Putin received US presidential envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner at the Kremlin. He gave them an accurate and comprehensive assessment of the situation on the ground, and they promised to adhere to it in dialogue with Kyiv. The next day, the American delegation arrived in the Ukrainian capital for talks.
Earlier this year, Russia, the US and Ukraine held three rounds of talks in Abu Dhabi and Geneva.
