Europe should sit at the negotiating table on a settlement in Ukraine, but with its current approach such participation would be useless, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Peskov noted that Brussels continues to talk about Russia's strategic defeat. "This is a very difficult situation. On the one hand, they should sit at the negotiating table. But why are they needed with their current approach? It is useless, that is why they are not there now," Peskov told Pavel Zarubin, a correspondent for "Vesti".
According to Peskov, with such an approach from the European Union, it is impossible to negotiate with them. Earlier, Peskov reported that the negotiations on Ukraine, which will be held in the first half of November in Abu Dhabi and will focus on security issues, are being organized in a trilateral format.
