The Pentagon has published a new batch of materials on unidentified anomalous phenomena, formerly often called UFOs. Dozens of documents, videos, photos, and audio files have been made public. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
In total, the US Department of Defense declassified 40 materials: 14 documents, 19 videos, four audio files, and three photographs.
One of the most discussed episodes occurred in 2015 over the Pantex plant in Texas, where US nuclear weapons are assembled and serviced. According to a report from the US Department of Energy, two officers spotted an unknown object in the sky and attempted to pursue it. They said it moved completely silently, and they could not determine its operating principle or type of propulsion system.
Another report describes a 2019 incident where a US military pilot reported seeing a rectangular object flying under his aircraft at high speed. The pilot said that in 28 years of service in the US Air Force and Navy, he had never encountered such a phenomenon.
Among the published materials is also an infrared image from 2020 showing a dark crimson object about 3.5–4.5 meters in height. Documents describe it as a "deformed balloon" spotted over the Atlantic Ocean.
However, the Pentagon does not claim that the published materials prove the existence of extraterrestrial life. The agency uses the term "unidentified anomalous phenomena" for any objects whose origin could not be explained at the time of observation. Many such cases later receive a perfectly earthly explanation, but some reports remain without final conclusions.
Earlier, Kursiv LifeStyle reported that US President Donald Trump ordered the government to release documents related to UFOs and the possible existence of extraterrestrial life.
