A Pennsylvania State Police helicopter and a small plane collided in midair and crashed Wednesday evening. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Associated Press.
The incident occurred about 110 miles (170 kilometers) northwest of Philadelphia, near Carlisle Airport. According to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the Bell 407 helicopter had two people on board, while the number of people on the Cessna 150 is not yet known.
Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro said he had been briefed on the crash and was heading there.
Photos and video on social media showed a helicopter on its side near aircraft debris in a field and a line of emergency vehicles near Carlisle.
The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) are investigating. There was no immediate word on possible injuries.
