A fire broke out on the roof of one of the secondary schools in Pavlodar. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, there are no casualties or injuries.
Upon arrival, firefighters found that insulation was burning under the profiled sheet. It is believed that the fire occurred during roofing works.
Before the rescuers arrived, about 10 people evacuated from the building on their own.
Firefighters managed to prevent the fire from spreading across the entire roof area. Extinguishing was complicated by the roof structure: the facility has a metal frame based on the double ceiling principle, and the roof itself is sheathed with profiled sheet on both sides. The fire source was inside the structure, making it difficult to detect.
To find hidden fire sources, firefighters used a thermal imager and opened sections of the roof to supply water directly to the burning area.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations reminded about the need to follow fire safety rules and call 112 in case of an emergency.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that on July 26, an apartment on the seventh floor of a nine-story building caught fire in Pavlodar. Twenty people, including five children, evacuated from the entrance on their own. The fire covering 25 square meters was extinguished, and there were no casualties.
