Inefficient spending of budget funds was prevented in Pavlodar. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

The Pavlodar city prosecutor's office, during an analysis of public procurement, identified violations of the law in planning the repair of the Central Square.

It turned out that the estimate documentation included work on laying paving slabs covering an area of more than 25 thousand square meters, as well as the purchase of concrete slabs of the same volume worth over 368 million tenge.

At the same time, the total area of the square is about 25 thousand square meters and includes lawns, green spaces, trees, and open soil areas not subject to paving.

As a result of measurements, it was established that the actual need for paving slabs does not exceed 9 thousand square meters.

Thus, the volumes of work and materials provided for in the project significantly exceeded the actual need, which created a risk of unjustified spending of budget funds.

Based on the prosecutor's supervision act, the public procurement procedure was stopped, and the guilty official was brought to justice.
