A 22-year-old man who was hit by a train at the railway station in Pavlodar and lost a leg has died in hospital eight days later. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

According to the Pavlodar regional ambulance station, the citizen born in 2004 was taken to the regional hospital named after G. Sultanov on September 30, 2026, in an extremely serious condition.

The patient suffered severe injuries and lost his left leg. "He underwent emergency surgery, and then several surgical operations were performed. Intensive care and resuscitation measures were also taken. However, despite the doctors' efforts, due to the severity of the injuries, the young man died on October 8," the ambulance station reported.

According to the transport police department, the linear police division at Pavlodar station has opened a criminal case over the incident. Investigative measures are currently being carried out to establish all the circumstances of what happened.
