A 48-year-old man in Pavlodar has been sentenced to life imprisonment for raping his stepdaughters and infecting them with HIV. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The court hearing was held behind closed doors. The defendant was charged under Article 121 Part 4 and Article 120 Part 4 of the Criminal Code — "Sexual violence" and "Rape".
According to the court, the incident occurred last spring. The 48-year-old man raped two sisters aged 10 and 11, who have disabilities and are homeschooled.
The girls' mother had been in a relationship with the defendant since 2018. During this time, the woman left her daughters in the man's care.
By the court's verdict, the man was sentenced to life imprisonment. He will serve his sentence in a special-security penal institution.
